SogesSleep Tri-Fold Memory Foam Mattress - 6 Inch Portable Queen Size, Foldable for Travel & Camping, Washable Cover, CertiPUR-US Certified

Product Overview

This mattress measures 80 inches long by 60 inches wide by 6 inches thick when fully unfolded, matching standard queen mattress dimensions. When folded, it reduces to approximately 27 by 60 by 18 inches based on manufacturer descriptions. The construction features a two-layer foam design: a 1-inch top layer of gel memory foam and a 3-inch base layer of high-density support foam. The cover is made from skin-friendly knitted cotton with a zipper for removal and is machine washable. The bottom surface includes small bumps to enhance stability on various floors, including potentially wet surfaces. It weighs 35 pounds, making it portable but somewhat bulky for frequent carrying as noted by some reviewers. The medium firm feel provides ergonomic support suitable for back and side sleepers. Care involves unzipping and washing the cover separately; the foam core should be spot-cleaned and allowed to air dry. It fits in cars, tents, mobile homes, and most rooms, though its folded size may be larger than expected for some users. The water-repellent property helps resist minor spills. No additional size variants are indicated in the available data.

Design & Build

The SogesSleep mattress features a straightforward tri-fold design with three equal sections that fold inward. The construction centers on a 6-inch thick foam core comprising two distinct layers. The top 1-inch layer uses gel-infused memory foam that softens with body heat to contour closely, while the bottom 3-inch layer consists of firmer high-density support foam to prevent bottoming out. This combination aims to distribute weight evenly and reduce pressure on hips and shoulders. The entire foam block is CertiPUR-US certified, indicating it meets specific standards for content, emissions, and durability without containing fiberglass, ozone depleters, or heavy metals. The cover is a removable knitted cotton fabric with a zipper along one side, described as skin-friendly and breathable. Its bottom surface incorporates small raised bumps to increase friction against floors, enhancing stability even on slick or damp surfaces. The folded dimensions create a relatively compact bundle, though at 35 pounds, it requires some effort to lift and carry.

Maintenance focuses on the removable cover, which is machine washable in cold water and should be air-dried or tumble-dried on low heat. The foam core itself is not washable; spot cleaning with mild detergent and water is recommended, followed by thorough air drying to prevent mold. The tri-fold hinges are integrated into the foam structure without external hardware, relying on the material's flexibility. Aesthetics are minimal with a white and navy color scheme that suits various decors. No carrying handles or straps are mentioned, so users must grip the folded bundle directly. Durability relies on the high-density foam base resisting permanent compression over time. Reviewers note it holds up well under regular use as a guest bed or camping pad. The design prioritizes function over luxury, with no built-in pillows or attachment points.

Performance

In terms of comfort, the mattress delivers a medium firm feel that most reviewers find supportive. The gel memory foam layer adapts to body contours, alleviating pressure points for side and back sleepers. One reviewer used it under a sofa bed mattress to add cushioning and successfully transformed an uncomfortable bed into a comfortable one. The two-layer construction prevents the sinking sensation common with single-layer foam pads. However, a few users describe it as firm and slightly uncomfortable, suggesting it may not suit those preferring plush softness. Temperature regulation benefits from the gel infusion in the memory foam, which aims to dissipate heat and keep sleepers cooler. No specific insulation or temperature retention data is provided, but the breathable cotton cover aids airflow. The non-slip bottom performs well on hard floors, preventing shifting during sleep or activities. The water-repellent feature offers basic protection against spills and damp ground, though it is not fully waterproof.

Portability is a mixed aspect. While the tri-fold design reduces size significantly, the 35-pound weight and bulky folded dimensions make it challenging to carry long distances. One reviewer mentioned it was larger than expected for lugging around, even in a car. For car camping or home guest use, it transports easily, but backpackers may find it too heavy. Setup is quick: unfold, let the foam expand for a short time, and add bedding. Takedown involves folding and securing with straps if available. The mattress maintains its shape after repeated folding, with no reports of permanent creases. Durability appears good for occasional use; no reviewers mention premature sagging or foam breakdown. The cover's machine-washability simplifies cleaning after spills or outdoor use. As a floor mattress, it provides adequate isolation from hard surfaces, though some may prefer additional padding for extended use. It fits standard queen sheets, enhancing convenience.
