Nutan, 5-Inch Tri-Folding Gel Memory Foam Portable Floor Mattress | Review
The Nutan 5-Inch Tri-Folding Gel Memory Foam Portable Floor Mattress is a versatile sleeping solution designed for temporary accommodations. This mattress combines gel-infused memory foam with a breathable mesh cover to provide comfortable support while maintaining portability. It's ideal for unexpected guests, camping trips, dorm rooms, or as a spare bed that can be easily stored when not in use. The tri-fold design allows it to be quickly set up on any flat surface and folded down to a compact size for transport or storage. With its therapeutic memory foam construction and removable washable cover, it offers a practical alternative to traditional mattresses for those needing flexible sleeping arrangements.
Product Overview
This Nutan portable mattress measures 74 x 38 x 5 inches in its unfolded state, providing a twin-size sleeping surface. The 5-inch profile consists of gel-infused memory foam layered over high-density support foam, creating a balance between softness and structural support. The tri-fold design divides the mattress into three equal sections that fold neatly together, reducing its footprint significantly for storage. A breathable mesh cover encases the foam layers, promoting air circulation to help regulate sleep temperature. The cover is removable and machine washable for easy maintenance. Weighing 18 pounds, the mattress is light enough for most adults to carry comfortably. While marketed as having therapeutic qualities, it's primarily designed for temporary use rather than as a permanent bed replacement. The white color option provides a clean aesthetic that blends with various decors.

Design & Build
The Nutan portable mattress features a straightforward tri-fold construction with three equal sections that fold together neatly. Each section measures approximately 24.7 inches wide when folded, creating a compact package that's easy to store in closets, under beds, or in vehicle trunks. The 5-inch total thickness includes a top layer of gel-infused memory foam and a bottom layer of high-density support foam. This combination aims to provide both comfort and structural integrity. The memory foam layer is ventilated to enhance breathability, while the support foam prevents the mattress from collapsing under weight. The entire foam core is encased in a white breathable mesh cover that zips off for washing. The cover material feels durable against regular handling and folding. No internal springs or rigid components are present, keeping the mattress flexible for folding. The edges are finished with reinforced stitching to withstand the stress of repeated folding and unfolding. The overall design prioritizes simplicity and functionality over luxury features.
Performance
Reviewers report the mattress provides adequate comfort for temporary sleeping arrangements. The memory foam conforms to body shapes without creating excessive sinkage. Several users mention it works well as a guest bed or camping mattress. The gel infusion and breathable cover help moderate temperature, though some note it can still feel warm during hot weather. The 5-inch thickness offers reasonable cushioning, though multiple reviewers mention it feels thinner than expected. One reviewer specifically noted it's 'definitely not 3 inches' despite the product description, suggesting some discrepancy in thickness perception. The tri-fold mechanism performs reliably according to users, with the mattress holding its folded shape when stored and unfolding flat without permanent creases. The washable cover maintains its appearance after cleaning cycles. For permanent daily use, the mattress may not provide sufficient support compared to traditional beds. However, for occasional overnight guests or short-term accommodations, it delivers satisfactory performance. The lightweight construction makes it easy to move between rooms or locations as needed.
