Product Overview
The Novilla 14 Inch King Hybrid Mattress measures 80 inches long by 76 inches wide with a 14-inch thickness. It weighs approximately 66 pounds. The mattress features a two-layer construction with foam comfort layers above pocketed coils. The firmness is described as medium-plush by the manufacturer. The top layer uses comfort foam designed to conform to the body and relieve pressure points. This foam also naturally absorbs moisture and odors to maintain freshness. Below lies a layer of 30 individually pocketed springs. These coils move independently to isolate motion and provide targeted support. The mattress has a pillow-top style surface in white and grey colors. It is not customizable, portable, or foldable. The mattress expands after unboxing, with some reviewers noting it takes up to three days to fully settle. It fits standard king bed frames. The age range is listed as adult. Design & Build
The Novilla 14 Inch King Hybrid Mattress features a straightforward two-layer construction. The top layer consists of comfort foam designed to provide a plush, contouring surface. This foam aims to relieve pressure on shoulders and hips while promoting spinal alignment. Below lies a core of 30 individually pocketed springs. Each coil is wrapped separately to move independently. This design helps isolate motion and provide targeted support. The mattress has a pillow-top style that adds extra cushioning. The cover is white and grey, offering a neutral aesthetic. The total thickness is 14 inches, providing substantial depth for comfort and support. The mattress is not customizable, portable, or foldable. It arrives compressed in a box, requiring unboxing and expansion. Some reviewers note expansion takes up to three days. The mattress weighs about 66 pounds, making it manageable for setup. The design focuses on creating a balanced hybrid feel without excessive complexity.
Materials include CertiPUR-US certified foam and OEKO-TEX certified textiles. These certifications ensure low emissions and safe materials. The foam naturally absorbs odors and moisture to maintain freshness. The pocket coils are designed for durability and consistent support. The mattress lacks advanced features like zoning or adjustable firmness. Cleaning involves using a mattress protector and occasional rotation. The cover is not removable for washing. The edges feature reinforced support to prevent sagging. Aesthetics are minimal with a simple white and grey color scheme. The pillow-top adds visual depth and tactile softness. The mattress works with most bed frames, including platform bases and adjustable foundations. Build quality aims for long-term use with a 10-year warranty. Some reviewers mention the outer side coils feel softer than expected. The design prioritizes motion isolation and pressure relief in a medium-plush package.
Performance
The Novilla hybrid mattress performs well in motion isolation due to its pocketed coils. Reviewers note reduced partner disturbance, as coils absorb movement locally. This makes it suitable for couples with different sleep schedules. The medium-plush firmness provides a balance of softness and support. Some users describe it as comfortable with good pressure relief. The foam layer conforms to the body, alleviating pressure on shoulders and hips. Spinal alignment is promoted for back and side sleepers. However, a few reviewers find the mattress too bouncy or soft. One mentions the head and sides droop down, suggesting edge support could be inconsistent. Another notes the outer coils are not strong enough for their weight. Performance varies by sleeper weight and preference. The hybrid design aims to combine foam contouring with spring responsiveness. Temperature regulation is adequate, with no reports of overheating. The odor-resistant foam helps maintain a fresh feel over time.
Durability is supported by a 10-year warranty, though long-term performance data is limited. The mattress holds up well under normal use according to early reviews. Some users report it feels amazing after full expansion. The bed-in-a-box setup works smoothly, with expansion taking up to three days. The mattress fits standard king frames, but one reviewer advises choosing the frame carefully. Motion transfer is low, enhancing sleep quality for couples. Pressure relief is effective for most users, though heavier individuals may desire firmer support. The pillow-top adds plushness without sacrificing support. There are no significant issues with off-gassing or initial odors. The mattress maintains its shape without premature sagging in central areas. Edge support may be a concern for those who sit or sleep near the perimeter. Overall performance meets expectations for a budget-friendly hybrid mattress. It provides a comfortable, isolated sleep surface for many users.
