INFINICE Japanese Floor Mattress - Futon with Storage Bag, Roll Up Tatami Mattress for Camping & Guest Rooms, Gray Full XL 80" x 54"

Product Overview

This Japanese-style floor mattress measures 80 inches long by 54 inches wide with a 4.6-inch thickness in the Full XL size. The construction features a single-layer memory foam core designed to conform to body curves while providing firm support. The cover utilizes cotton or cotton blend fabric that reviewers describe as skin-friendly and breathable. The mattress ships compressed in a portable storage bag with bandages for rolling and securing. After unpacking, the manufacturer recommends exposing it to sunlight to help it regain its full shape and fluffiness. The design prioritizes easy storage—when not in use, the mattress rolls up compactly into the included storage bag for placement in closets, under beds, or other confined spaces. This makes it particularly suitable for small apartments, guest rooms, camping trips, children's play areas, and temporary sleeping arrangements. The gray color option provides a neutral aesthetic that blends with various decors. Care involves simple spot cleaning of the cover, though the compressed shipping means users should allow time for the mattress to fully expand before first use. The firmness level is described as firm, which some reviewers find supportive for back pain relief, while others prefer additional cushioning on hard floors.

Design & Build

The INFINICE Japanese Floor Mattress features a straightforward single-layer construction with memory foam as the primary material. The mattress measures 80 inches in length, 54 inches in width, and expands to 4.6 inches thick after decompression. A cotton or cotton blend cover encases the memory foam core, providing a soft, breathable surface that reviewers describe as skin-friendly. The cover's stitching follows an even pattern that prevents filling displacement and clumping, contributing to the mattress's durability. The design includes practical elements like bandages for rolling and a matching storage bag that simplifies transportation and compact storage. Aesthetically, the gray color offers a neutral option that blends with various room decors. The overall profile is low-profile and minimalist, staying true to traditional Japanese futon principles while incorporating modern portable features.

Maintenance focuses on simplicity—the cover can be spot cleaned as needed, while the memory foam core requires no special care beyond proper storage. The roll-up mechanism uses included bandages to secure the mattress tightly before placing it in the storage bag. This process helps maintain the mattress's shape when not in use. The compressed shipping method reduces package size but requires users to allow the mattress to fully expand, with manufacturer recommendations suggesting sunlight exposure to accelerate this process. The materials feel substantial according to reviewers, with some noting the fabric has a nice texture and color. However, one reviewer mentioned the 4.6-inch thickness might feel thin when placed directly on hard surfaces, suggesting additional padding may be needed for some users. The design prioritizes functionality and space efficiency over luxurious aesthetics.

Performance

In real-world use, reviewers report the mattress provides good support for sleeping on various surfaces. The memory foam layer conforms to body contours, offering pressure relief that some users say helps with back pain. The firmness level works well for back and side sleepers according to multiple reviews, though individual preferences vary. Temperature regulation benefits from the breathable cotton cover, with several reviewers noting they stay cool throughout the night. The mattress maintains its shape over time thanks to the even filling distribution and reinforced stitching, though long-term durability requires proper storage practices. When used on hard floors, some reviewers find the 4.6-inch thickness sufficient, while others suggest adding a padded mat underneath for extra comfort. The portable design performs excellently—users can quickly roll up the mattress and store it in the included bag, freeing up floor space within minutes.

Leak resistance and condensation aren't applicable concerns for this dry mattress. Drop resilience isn't a primary factor since it's designed for floor placement rather than elevated bed frames. The main trade-offs involve comfort versus portability—the mattress sacrifices some plushness for easy storage and transportation. Weight is manageable for most adults to carry when rolled up. The storage bag protects against dust but isn't waterproof, so users should avoid damp storage areas. Reviewers consistently praise how the mattress transforms small spaces, allowing living rooms to serve as guest bedrooms by day and sleeping areas by night. Some note that while the mattress works well on carpeted floors, very hard surfaces might require additional cushioning. Overall performance balances comfort, convenience, and space efficiency effectively for its intended uses.
