It combines gel-infused memory foam with individually wrapped pocket coils in a hybrid construction that aims to reduce pressure points while promoting airflow. The mattress arrives compressed in a box for easy delivery and setup, expanding to full size within 72 hours. It targets adults who prefer a firmer feel without sacrificing contouring comfort, particularly those concerned about sleeping hot. With a 100-night trial and 10-year limited warranty, it offers a risk-free opportunity to test its performance. Reviewers praise its surprising quality for the price, noting it stays cool and provides firm support. The hybrid design aims to deliver the bounce of innersprings with the pressure relief of foam, making it suitable for back and stomach sleepers who need lumbar support.

Product Overview

The Serta SleepTrue Hybrid Mattress measures 79.5 inches long by 60 inches wide by 12 inches thick in the Queen size, weighing 42.2 pounds. It features a four-layer construction with a breathable light blue cover, Pillow Soft Aire foam for cushioning, Cool Twist Gel Memory Foam for cooling, and 800 individually wrapped pocket coils for support. The medium firmness is designed to offer a balance between contouring and support, with three support zones targeting areas like the lower back. The mattress uses CertiPUR-US certified foams, ensuring they are free from harmful chemicals. It arrives compressed in a box, requiring unrolling and up to 72 hours to fully expand and air out. The tight top style provides a smooth surface without pillow tops or additional padding. While not portable or foldable, the boxed delivery simplifies handling. Design & Build

The Serta SleepTrue Hybrid Mattress features a 12-inch profile with a four-layer construction designed for durability and comfort. The top layer is a breathable light blue cover that promotes airflow and has a soft texture. Beneath it, a layer of Pillow Soft Aire foam provides initial cushioning and enhances ventilation. The third layer is Cool Twist Gel Memory Foam, where gel is swirled into premium memory foam to dissipate heat and offer contouring support. The base consists of 800 individually wrapped pocket coils, arranged in three support zones to target areas like the lower back. This hybrid design combines the pressure relief of foam with the responsiveness and breathability of coils. The tight top style ensures a smooth, even surface without extra padding. Materials are CertiPUR-US certified, indicating they meet standards for content, emissions, and durability. The mattress weighs 42.2 pounds in Queen size, making it manageable for setup. Aesthetics are minimal with a light blue color and clean lines, fitting most bedroom decors. The construction aims to prevent sagging and maintain shape over time, as noted by reviewers who report no issues with lumps or sinking after months of use.

Setup involves unrolling the compressed mattress from its box and allowing it to expand. It typically takes up to 72 hours to reach full thickness and may require one to two weeks to air out completely. The mattress is not portable or foldable once expanded, so placement should be planned carefully. Cleaning is straightforward with spot cleaning recommended for the cover; using a mattress protector can help maintain hygiene. The hybrid build enhances durability, with pocket coils reducing motion transfer compared to traditional innersprings. Reviewers mention the mattress feels sturdy and well-made, with no signs of wear after extended use. The design prioritizes breathability, with multiple layers promoting airflow to keep sleepers cool. The medium firmness is consistent across the surface, providing uniform support. While not customizable, the mattress works with add-ons like toppers for personalized comfort. Overall, the build focuses on quality materials and thoughtful engineering to deliver a reliable sleep surface.

Performance

The Serta SleepTrue Hybrid Mattress performs well in providing supportive, cool sleep. The hybrid construction balances the contouring of memory foam with the bounce of coils, offering medium firmness that suits back and stomach sleepers. Reviewers report it stays cool throughout the night, thanks to the gel-infused foam and breathable materials. The three support zones effectively target the lower back, reducing pressure points and promoting spinal alignment. Motion isolation is decent due to pocketed coils, though some transfer may occur compared to all-foam mattresses. The mattress maintains its shape over time, with users noting no sagging or lumps after months of use. Temperature regulation is a standout feature, with many reviewers praising its ability to prevent overheating. The firmness level is consistent, providing reliable support without being too hard. Edge support is adequate, allowing use of the full mattress surface. The expansion process is smooth, with the mattress reaching full size within the expected timeframe. Some users mention adding a soft topper for extra plushness, enhancing comfort without compromising support. Overall, performance meets expectations for a mid-range hybrid mattress, delivering comfort and durability.

In real-world use, the mattress excels in breathability and support. Reviewers highlight its firm yet comfortable feel, ideal for those who prefer a supportive sleep surface. The cooling properties are frequently praised, with sleepers noting reduced night sweats. The hybrid design enhances airflow, preventing heat buildup common in all-foam models. Durability is strong, with no reports of premature wear or defects. The mattress handles weight well, providing even support across the body. Noise is minimal, as pocket coils reduce squeaking. Off-gassing occurs initially but dissipates within a week or two. The 100-night trial allows users to assess comfort over time, with many finding it suitable long-term. Some reviewers mention it works best on a solid foundation or adjustable base. The medium firmness may be too firm for side sleepers without a topper. Performance in temperature retention is consistent, keeping sleepers cool in various climates. Trade-offs include its weight, which makes moving difficult once expanded. The mattress fits standard bed frames without issues. Overall, it delivers reliable performance for its price point, meeting needs for cooling, support, and durability.

Excellent Quality and Comfort!
We now own two of these mattresses—one full size and one queen. I was initially worried about the "mattress in a box" delivery approach, but after giving it time to fully expand, you can't tell it was shipped that way. The hybrid design is very comfortable and stays cool. I would definitely purchase again, especially given the fantastic price.
For a firm, affordable mattress, this is an excellent choice!
This is the best mattress I've ever had! It's incredibly comfortable, with just the right firmness, and it stays cool throughout the night.
Pleasantly Surprised by Mattress Quality
I was very surprised at how quickly this mattress unrolled from its compressed packaging. It seems excellent so far, and I'm using it in a spare room, so it won't experience daily wear and tear.
