sixvvxn 12" Hybrid King Mattress in a Box, with Memory Foam & Review

The Sixvvxn 12" Hybrid King Mattress is a bed-in-a-box mattress designed for sleepers seeking a balance of comfort and support. It combines memory foam layers with individually wrapped pocket springs in a 12-inch profile. This mattress targets those who want pressure relief from foam while maintaining the responsive support and edge reinforcement of an innerspring system. Its medium-firm feel aims to accommodate various sleeping positions. The hybrid construction promises to reduce motion transfer, making it suitable for couples. Delivered compressed in a box, it expands to standard king dimensions after unboxing. The mattress uses breathable fabrics and certified foams for temperature regulation and safety. It positions itself as a value option under $300, offering hybrid features typically found in higher-priced models.

Product Overview

This mattress measures 80 inches long by 76 inches wide by 12 inches thick, fitting standard king-size bed frames. It weighs 51 pounds, making it manageable for setup. The construction includes a memory foam comfort layer over a core of independent pocket springs. The manufacturer describes an ergonomic zonal support system that distributes weight evenly and supports spinal alignment. Breathable knit fabrics cover the mattress to promote airflow and wick moisture. The foam materials are certified for safety and durability. The mattress arrives compressed in a box for easy delivery and handling. After unboxing, it requires 48 to 72 hours to fully expand and off-gas. The manufacturer notes there is no trial period, and opened mattresses cannot be returned. Defects or damage during delivery are addressed by U.S.-based customer support. The design focuses on combining the contouring feel of memory foam with the bounce and edge support of pocket springs. It is intended for everyday use or guest rooms. The medium-firm rating suggests it may suit back and side sleepers who need both cushioning and support. Care involves using a mattress protector and rotating periodically for even wear.

Design & Build

The Sixvvxn hybrid mattress uses a layered construction with a 12-inch total height. The top layer consists of memory foam that contours to the body's shape, providing pressure relief at shoulders, hips, and other sensitive areas. Beneath this, a transition layer may integrate with the pocket spring core to prevent sinking. The core features individually wrapped pocket springs, each moving independently to isolate motion and enhance durability. These springs are arranged in zones to offer targeted support where needed most, such as the lumbar region. The entire unit is encased in a breathable knit fabric cover that feels soft to the touch and promotes airflow. The edges are reinforced with firmer springs or foam to prevent roll-off and maintain structure over time. The mattress lacks handles but is lightweight enough for two people to position. It ships compressed in a box, reducing its footprint for delivery and simplifying movement into bedrooms.

Cleaning involves spot-cleaning the cover with mild detergent and water, as it is not removable. The manufacturer recommends using a waterproof mattress protector to guard against spills and stains. The foam and spring materials are designed to resist sagging and maintain shape with regular use. Aesthetics are minimal, with a simple gray or white knit cover that fits under standard sheets. The bed-in-a-box format means it may have a slight odor upon unboxing, which dissipates within a few days. There are no flipping instructions, but rotating head-to-foot every few months can promote even wear. The lack of a trial period means buyers should be confident in their choice before opening. Customer support assists with defects, but returns are not allowed once unpacked. The build prioritizes a balance of plush comfort from foam and firm support from springs, aiming for longevity in a budget-friendly package.

Performance

The mattress performs as a medium-firm hybrid, offering a blend of cushioning and support. The memory foam layer slowly conforms to the body, relieving pressure points like hips and shoulders. This can reduce tossing and turning for side sleepers. The pocket springs provide a responsive feel, making it easier to change positions compared to all-foam beds. Motion isolation is a key strength, with the independent springs absorbing movement so one sleeper's actions minimally disturb the other. Edge support is robust, allowing sleepers to use the full surface without feeling like they might roll off. Temperature regulation benefits from the breathable cover, which helps dissipate heat and moisture. However, memory foam can retain some warmth, so hot sleepers may still experience warmth buildup in the foam layer. The mattress maintains its shape well, with no immediate sagging reported in early use. The hybrid design aims to prevent the sinking feeling common in all-foam mattresses while offering more contouring than traditional innersprings.

In terms of durability, the certified foams and pocket springs are designed to resist premature wear. The mattress should hold its structure for several years under normal use. The expansion process after unboxing is critical; allowing the full 48-72 hours ensures the foam recovers completely and any off-gassing odors dissipate. There is no information on temperature retention claims, but the breathable materials suggest it sleeps cooler than all-foam alternatives. The lack of noise from springs is a plus, as the pocket coils operate quietly. The medium-firm feel may be too firm for strict side sleepers or too soft for strict stomach sleepers, but it accommodates combination sleepers well. The value proposition is strong, with hybrid performance at a lower price point. Buyers should note the no-return policy, so performance expectations must align with the described features. Overall, it delivers on core hybrid benefits: motion isolation, edge support, and balanced comfort.

Best mattress for the price!
After a month of sleeping on this, my back pain has significantly improved. The medium-firm feel is perfect—supportive yet soft. It was easy to set up and expanded quickly. Incredible value for a king mattress.
Solid mattress, minor hiccup
The comfort and edge support are excellent, and it sleeps cool. However, the delivery was a day late, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, very happy with the quality for the cost.
It's okay, not great
It's comfortable enough, but I expected it to be a bit firmer based on the description. The initial off-gassing smell lasted longer than I'd like. For the price, it's decent, but I'm not blown away.
