Greaton 8-Inch High-Density Foam RV Mattress Replacement - Medium Firm, Queen Size, Green, for Trailers & Camper Vans

Product Overview

The Greaton RV Mattress is constructed with a single layer of high-density foam, covered by a waterproof vinyl material. It measures 80 inches in length, 60 inches in width, and 8 inches in thickness, with a weight of 50 pounds. The medium firmness level is designed to balance support and comfort for adult users. The vinyl cover is easy to clean and protects the foam from spills, stains, and moisture, making it suitable for environments where hygiene and durability are important. The foam itself has excellent resilience, meaning it bounces back to its original shape after compression, ensuring long-term performance. This mattress can be used in various applications beyond RVs, including trailers, camper vans, platform beds, and furniture like chairs and sofas. It is easy to customize with tools such as sharp knives or electric cutters, allowing users to trim edges or stack layers for added thickness. Upon delivery, the mattress may require 3 to 4 days to fully expand after being unrolled from its shipping box. Care should be taken when opening the package to avoid damaging the foam with sharp tools.

Design & Build

The Greaton RV Mattress features a straightforward design centered on durability and functionality. It is built with a single layer of high-density foam, which provides a medium firmness level suitable for adult users. The foam is encased in a waterproof vinyl cover that adds protection against spills and moisture, making it ideal for mobile or outdoor use. The cover material is easy to clean, requiring only hand washing, which simplifies maintenance in environments like RVs or campers. The mattress dimensions are 80 inches long by 60 inches wide, with an 8-inch thickness, offering a standard Queen size that fits many trailers and camper vans. Its weight of 50 pounds makes it manageable for installation, though it may require assistance due to its bulk.

Aesthetics are minimal, with a green color that may blend into various settings. The design prioritizes practicality over luxury, with no additional layers or advanced materials like memory foam, despite being labeled as such in some specifications. The foam's resilience ensures it maintains its shape over time, even with frequent compression. Users should note that the mattress may arrive compressed in a shipping box and needs to be unrolled and allowed to expand for 3 to 4 days. Caution is advised when opening the package to prevent cutting into the foam with sharp tools. The customizable nature of the foam allows for trimming or stacking, offering flexibility for DIY projects or specific furniture needs.

Performance

In terms of performance, the Greaton RV Mattress delivers reliable support and durability for its intended applications. The high-density foam provides a medium firmness that many users find comfortable for sleeping in trailers or camper vans, offering adequate support without being too hard. The waterproof vinyl cover effectively protects against spills and moisture, which is crucial in mobile environments where accidents can occur. This feature also makes cleaning straightforward, as the cover can be wiped down or hand washed. The foam's resilience means it bounces back after compression, maintaining its shape and comfort over extended use, which is beneficial for frequent travelers or those using it in furniture.

However, without specific reviewer feedback, performance aspects like temperature regulation or long-term wear are not detailed. The mattress may not offer advanced features such as cooling properties or pressure relief found in premium mattresses. Its weight and bulk could make handling challenging during setup, and the expansion period of 3 to 4 days might require planning ahead. The medium firmness may not suit all sleep preferences, especially those needing very soft or very firm support. Overall, it performs well as a practical, durable option for RV and furniture use, focusing on basic comfort and easy maintenance rather than high-end sleep technology.
