OGEMXU Futon Mattres Full Size 6", Flannel Floor Foldable for Adults Review
The OGEMXU Futon Mattress is a 6-inch thick, full-size floor mattress designed for versatile living spaces. It targets adults needing flexible sleeping or seating solutions in bedrooms, living rooms, or guest areas. Its core value lies in multifunctionality—serving as a sofa, bed, or floor mattress without requiring a dedicated frame. The mattress features high-density shredded foam filling intended to balance softness and support. A flannel fabric cover adds breathability and a soft tactile feel. This product arrives vacuum-sealed for compact shipping, requiring 24-48 hours to expand fully. While marketed as an affordable, space-saving option, user experiences vary significantly regarding thickness and comfort.
Product Overview
This OGEMXU futon mattress measures 54 inches wide by 80 inches long with a 6-inch thickness, fitting standard full-size futon frames or floor use. It weighs 25 pounds, making it moderately portable for repositioning. The construction uses a single-layer design with shredded comfort foam and memory foam filling, described by the manufacturer as 'extra plush.' The cover is made of breathable cotton flannel fabric, which reviewers note feels soft and delicate. The mattress is foldable, allowing it to transition between sofa and bed configurations, though some users report it struggles to stay upright in seated positions. Care involves simple spot cleaning due to the non-removable cover. It ships compressed and vacuum-sealed to reduce shipping volume; the manufacturer advises allowing 24-48 hours for full expansion and airing out. No frame is included. Variability in expansion and thickness is a common theme in reviews, with some units expanding adequately while others remain thin and lumpy.

Design & Build
The OGEMXU Futon Mattress employs a straightforward single-layer construction with shredded comfort foam and memory foam filling. The manufacturer claims a 28-density foam rating, intended to offer both softness and support. The cover is made from cotton flannel fabric, which is breathable and soft to the touch, though it is not removable for washing. Hand-sewn stitching in multiple areas aims to keep the filling evenly distributed and prevent lumping. The mattress is designed to be foldable, allowing it to bend for use as a sofa back or for storage, but some reviewers note it lacks structural rigidity when positioned upright. Aesthetics include a simple gray color and clean seams, with dimensions of 54 by 80 inches and a listed 6-inch thickness. The total weight is 25 pounds, making it manageable to move solo. Durability concerns arise from user reports of poor expansion and filling shift over time.
Performance
Performance of the OGEMXU Futon Mattress is highly variable according to user reviews. Some find it comfortable and good value, praising its soft flannel cover and adequate cushioning for occasional use. Others report significant issues: the mattress often fails to expand to the advertised 6-inch thickness after unpacking, sometimes remaining as thin as 1 inch. This leads to discomfort, with users feeling futon frame slats or floor surfaces underneath. The shredded foam filling can become lumpy and uneven, reducing support and causing the mattress to slump in seated positions. Temperature regulation benefits from the breathable flannel cover, but insulation is minimal due to the thin profile. The foldable design works in theory, but many note the mattress lacks the firmness to stay upright as a sofa back, collapsing instead. Drop or dent resilience is low, with the foam compressing easily under weight. Overall, while it serves as a decorative or light-use option for some, it falls short for regular sleeping or seating needs according to critical reviews.
