FORTNIGHT BEDDING 6 Inch Foam Mattress with Blue Nylon Cover - Made in USA Full Size (54 x 75 x 6), Durable & Supportive

Product Overview

The mattress measures 74 inches long, 53 inches wide, and 6 inches thick, fitting standard full-size frames and spaces like cots or RV bunks. It is constructed from a single layer of supportive foam, covered with a sleek blue nylon fabric that is water-resistant, non-allergenic, odor-free, flame-retardant, anti-static, crack-resistant, and phthalate-free. This cover enhances durability and simplifies cleaning, as it can be wiped down easily—a benefit noted by users dealing with spills or pet accidents. The foam is CertiPUR-US certified, ensuring it is free from harmful chemicals like PBDEs, formaldehyde, lead, and heavy metals. Ergonomically, the mattress offers a firm feel that provides adequate support for many users, though some reviewers mention it may sink under heavier weights. Care involves minimal maintenance due to the water-resistant cover; spot cleaning is typically sufficient. Portability is a key advantage, as the lightweight foam design allows for easy moving and storage, making it ideal for seasonal use or travel. Compatibility considerations include its fit on various surfaces like floors, cots, or sofa frames, though users should verify dimensions for specific applications. Variants may exist in size or color, but the input specifies a full-size model with a blue cover.

Design & Build

The FORTNIGHT BEDDING 6 Inch Foam Mattress features a straightforward design centered on practicality and durability. Its construction consists of a single 6-inch layer of supportive foam, which provides a firm sleeping surface. The foam is encased in a blue nylon cover that is water-resistant, enhancing protection against spills and moisture. This cover is also non-allergenic, odor-free, flame-retardant, anti-static, crack-resistant, and phthalate-free, making it safe for various users, including those with allergies or sensitivities. The mattress lacks complex mechanics like springs or adjustable layers, focusing instead on simplicity for easy use and maintenance. Its rectangular shape with dimensions of 74 x 53 x 6 inches ensures compatibility with full-size frames and spaces like cots or RV bunks.

Aesthetics are minimal, with a sleek blue nylon fabric that looks clean and modern. The cover is designed for easy cleaning—users can wipe it down with a damp cloth, which reviewers appreciate for dealing with accidents or dirt. There is no integrated handle or carry system, but the lightweight foam allows for easy portability by hand. Durability is reinforced by the crack-resistant and anti-static properties of the cover, though some reviewers note that the foam may compress over time under heavier weights. Maintenance involves occasional spot cleaning and ensuring the mattress is stored in a dry place to prevent mold. Overall, the design prioritizes functionality over luxury, making it a reliable choice for temporary or versatile sleeping needs.

Performance

In terms of comfort and support, the mattress performs well for its intended uses. Many reviewers report that the firm foam provides adequate support, reducing back aches and improving sleep quality, especially on cots or floors. For example, one user with a herniated disc found it comfortable on a camping cot, while others note it works well for children or guests. However, performance varies with weight; some reviewers weighing over 100 pounds mention that the foam sinks low, leading to instability or the need for additional support like placing it on another mattress. This suggests it may be best suited for lighter individuals or short-term use. The water-resistant cover effectively repels spills, as highlighted by users dealing with urine or vomit, making it easy to clean and maintain hygiene in challenging environments.

Insulation and temperature regulation are not specified in the input, but the foam and nylon materials likely provide basic breathability without advanced cooling features. Condensation or sweat resistance is not addressed, but the water-resistant cover helps manage moisture. Drop or dent resilience is moderate; the foam can compress under pressure but generally retains its shape for occasional use. Trade-offs include its firmness, which may be too hard for some sleepers preferring plush surfaces, and its 6-inch thickness, which offers less cushioning than thicker mattresses. Portability is a strength, as the lightweight design allows for easy movement, though it may not fit all cup-holders or tight spaces due to its full-size dimensions. Overall, the mattress excels in versatility and ease of care, with limitations in long-term comfort for heavier users.
