Leesa Studio 10" Mattress, Full Size, Cooling Memory Foam/ Foam / Review

The Leesa Studio Mattress is a 10-inch all-foam mattress designed to deliver balanced comfort and support for all sleep positions. It targets sleepers seeking pressure relief, cooling properties, and durable construction without the premium price tag of higher-end models. The mattress features three layers of foam, including a cooling memory foam layer, and comes with a soft, seamless cover in a heather-blue design. Leesa positions this model as a great value option, offering many of the benefits of their more expensive mattresses while maintaining quality materials and construction. The mattress is GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low VOC emissions and is assembled in the USA. It includes a 120-night trial period, allowing buyers to test it risk-free, and Leesa donates one mattress to nonprofits for every ten sold. This makes it appealing for budget-conscious shoppers who still want a comfortable, supportive sleep surface with ethical purchasing benefits.

Product Overview

The Leesa Studio Mattress measures 75 inches long by 53 inches wide by 10 inches thick in the Full size, with a weight of approximately 59 pounds. It uses three layers of foam: a cooling memory foam top layer for pressure relief, a middle layer for responsive support, and a durable base foam for stability. The cover is made from a soft, seamless fabric in heather-blue with blue stripes, designed without tapered edges for enhanced comfort and easy maintenance. The mattress is compressed, rolled, and shipped in a box, making delivery and setup convenient for apartments or homes with stairs. Upon unboxing, it requires time to fully expand and off-gas, a common process for bed-in-a-box mattresses. Reviewers note it should be placed on a supportive base like a slatted frame or solid platform, as box springs may damage it. The mattress is suitable for adults and is crafted with CertiPUR-US certified foams, ensuring no harmful chemicals. While the input specifies a Full size, Leesa likely offers other sizes, though exact dimensions for those variants are not provided here. Care involves using the removable, washable cover and spot-cleaning the foam layers as needed.

Design & Build

The Leesa Studio Mattress showcases a minimalist design with a 10-inch profile, making it suitable for most bed frames and adjustable bases. Its construction centers on three foam layers: a top layer of cooling memory foam for pressure relief, a middle layer for responsive support, and a high-density base foam for durability. The foam is CertiPUR-US certified, ensuring it is free from harmful chemicals like formaldehyde and heavy metals. The cover is crafted from a soft, breathable fabric in heather-blue with subtle blue stripes, featuring a seamless design that eliminates tapered edges for a smoother, more comfortable surface. This cover is removable and washable, simplifying maintenance and extending the mattress's lifespan. The mattress is assembled in the USA with attention to detail, emphasizing quality control and material consistency. Aesthetics are understated yet modern, fitting various bedroom decors without overwhelming the space. The bed-in-a-box format allows for compact shipping, but reviewers advise allowing time for off-gassing and full expansion after unboxing. The design prioritizes ergonomics, aiming to support back, stomach, and side sleepers through balanced firmness and contouring.

Durability is enhanced by the high-density base foam, which resists sagging and maintains shape over time. The foam layers are engineered to provide long-lasting support without compromising comfort. The cover's seamless construction reduces wear points and potential tearing. Cleaning is straightforward: the cover can be machine-washed, while the foam layers should be spot-cleaned with mild detergent. The mattress weighs about 59 pounds, making it manageable for one or two people to move and position. It requires a supportive base, such as a slatted frame or solid platform, to prevent damage and ensure proper performance; box springs are not recommended. The design includes no handles or grips, so lifting should be done carefully to avoid strain. Overall, the build focuses on practical, user-friendly features that combine comfort, ease of care, and robust materials for reliable use.

Performance

The Leesa Studio Mattress delivers firm yet responsive support, with many reviewers noting relief from back and hip pain. The cooling memory foam top layer helps regulate temperature, though some users report it can retain heat in warmer climates. The foam contours to the body, reducing pressure points for side, back, and stomach sleepers, and minimizes motion transfer, so partners are less likely to disturb each other during sleep. Insulation properties are adequate, with the foam providing a stable sleep surface that doesn't fluctuate dramatically with room temperature. The mattress maintains its shape well over time, with minimal sagging reported in reviews, contributing to consistent performance. Off-gassing is common initially, as with many bed-in-a-box products, but the smell typically dissipates within a few hours to a couple of days if windows are opened. The firmness level is described as medium-firm, offering enough give for comfort without feeling too soft or unsupportive. This balance makes it suitable for a wide range of sleep preferences and body types.

Leak resistance and condensation are not applicable here, but durability against wear and tear is strong due to the high-density foam layers. The mattress resists denting and maintains its structural integrity even with regular use. Some reviewers mention it feels heavier than expected at 59 pounds, which can be a consideration for moving or rotating. The bed-in-a-box format ensures easy delivery, but performance may vary slightly during the initial expansion period. Trade-offs include the need for a proper supportive base to avoid damage and potential heat retention for hot sleepers. Overall, performance is reliable, with the mattress providing consistent comfort and support that meets the needs of most users, backed by positive feedback on pain relief and sleep quality.

Excellent Sleep Experience
After purchasing our first LEESA mattress from West Elm, which greatly relieved my back issues, we decided to buy a second one on Amazon for our guest bedroom. Testing it confirmed it's an outstanding mattress—very comfortable and free from back or hip pain. Don't let the 'mattress in a box' idea deter you. Simply unpack it, place it in your bed frame, carefully cut and remove the plastic wrap, and allow it to expand and air out by opening windows for an hour or two. Like most new furniture, it may have a temporary odor upon unboxing, but this dissipates quickly. This mattress offers exceptional quality at a fantastic price. Treat your back well and make this purchase—I highly recommend it!
Excellent mattress quality! Still satisfied after months of use!
Purchased this mattress during last year's Prime Day sale and secured a fantastic deal. Initially hesitant, but our old mattress urgently needed replacement, so we decided to try it. The Leesa mattress has exceeded expectations—it's incredibly comfortable. After several months of use, we sleep soundly, with minimal disturbance from my partner's movements. Additionally, lying down alleviates my back pain. It's definitely worth the investment and easy to maneuver into apartments or up stairs. Highly recommended!
