Product Overview
This bassinet mattress measures 30 inches long by 18 inches wide with a 2-inch thickness, specifically engineered to fit Halo Bassinest models including Swivel, Luxe, Glide, Flex, and Premiere Series sleepers. The dual-sided design provides distinct sleeping surfaces: one side offers firmer support recommended for infants aged 0-6 months to promote safe breathing and posture development, while the opposite side provides softer cushioning suitable for toddlers aged 6-12+ months. The core consists of high-density gel memory foam that maintains durability while allowing airflow to help regulate temperature. A premium waterproof layer protects the foam from moisture, spills, and accidents. The removable soft cover is machine-washable for easy maintenance and hygiene. Weighing just 2.29 pounds, the mattress is lightweight enough for travel between homes or grandparents' houses. Reviewers note the mattress fits perfectly in their Halo Bassinest units, though some mention checking exact dimensions before purchase is advisable. The foam requires 24-36 hours to fully expand after unpacking. Design & Build
The Amzreine bassinet mattress features a straightforward rectangular design measuring 30 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 2 inches thick. This precise sizing ensures it fits securely within Halo Bassinest models without dangerous gaps around the edges. The construction centers around a high-density gel memory foam core that provides the mattress's supportive structure. This foam is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning it's been independently tested and verified to be free from harmful chemicals like phthalates, lead, and formaldehyde. The dual-sided design incorporates different firmness levels on each surface: one side offers firmer support recommended for infants 0-6 months, while the opposite side provides softer cushioning for toddlers 6-12+ months. This thoughtful design accommodates developmental needs throughout the first year.
A premium waterproof layer encases the foam core, creating a barrier against moisture, spills, and accidents. This protective layer helps prevent mold and mildew growth within the foam. The removable soft cover completes the construction, featuring a breathable fabric that's machine-washable for easy maintenance. At just 2.29 pounds, the mattress is notably lightweight compared to many bassinet mattresses, making it practical for travel between homes. The foam requires 24-36 hours to fully expand after unpacking, during which time it should be left flat in a well-ventilated area. Reviewers describe the materials as high quality without strong odors, and many note the cover feels soft against their baby's skin. The simple design focuses on safety and practicality over decorative elements.
Performance
In practical use, reviewers report the mattress provides excellent comfort and support for infants. Many mention their babies sleep more peacefully and for longer durations since switching to this mattress. The firm side designed for infants 0-6 months offers sufficient support for safe breathing and posture development, giving parents peace of mind about infant safety. The softer side for older babies provides cushioned comfort that reviewers describe as 'plush' yet supportive. The high-density foam maintains its shape well without premature sagging, and the gel memory foam construction helps regulate temperature, though some reviewers note their babies can get warm on the mattress during winter months, raising concerns about summer heat. The waterproof layer effectively protects against spills and accidents, preventing moisture from reaching the foam core.
The removable cover performs well for maintenance, with reviewers praising how easy it is to remove and machine-wash after accidents. The lightweight design makes the mattress genuinely portable for travel, with several reviewers specifically mentioning using it successfully during vacations. The precise fit in Halo Bassinest models eliminates dangerous gaps that can pose safety risks. Some reviewers mention the mattress being slightly too large for their specific bassinet models despite matching advertised dimensions, suggesting slight variations in bassinet sizes may affect fit. The CertiPUR-US certification provides assurance about material safety, though parents should still follow safe sleep guidelines. Overall, the mattress delivers on its core promises of safety, comfort, and practicality, with most reviewers expressing high satisfaction with its performance.
